Spring...yeah, woot. woot.

That is the opinion of my sinuses, nose and throat right now as I choke down Zyrt@c and Sud@fed while shoving Vicks up my nose so I can breathe and try not to drown in my own gunk, i.e. my body fighting the coming of Spring.  And we had snow flurries yesterday morning. Nice.

The kids are with their dad for an extended weekend, and thank goodness for that as I've accomplished no more than plow my way through 4000 kleenex, drink enough hot tea and coffee to sink an aircraft carrier and pee 50 gazillion times...and sleep. I've slept more in the last three days than I have in a month. This getting older and sick crap is for the birds!

Things are going well with my Knight in Shining Armor (I keep thinking I need to give him an abbreviation or acronym, but he deserves the whole title...suck it, haters) and I despise feeling like garbage with allergies and sinus crap when I'm honestly on Cloud9 most of the time.  Feeling sick makes me grouchy...if you couldn't tell by the above!  Once in a while a gust of wind from the court dealing with bankruptcy or dissolution will knock me in the gut, but I think that is more of a whole life outlook kick in the gut.  I mean, who plans on those things as your 'goal' in life??  Things were so NOT planned that way, and I hate it. It makes me sick.  On the other hand, I know those things brought me to where I am now- getting stronger, losing lots of emotional baggage, and enjoying a wonderful life with my soul mate and my kiddos.

I haven't blogged much as of late because I've been super freaking busy with school work, visiting out of town, beating my head against the wall with Monster Man and his lessons, taking the kids back and forth to their dad's and getting things pared down around here, staying up way too late, wasting wayyy too much time on FB and being overwhelmed buy this house - I have too much STUFF.  Stuff I've kept around me for years as love and memories of friends and family.  I have started spending more time with the friends and family, as I have always enjoyed doing, (with help of being loved by my Sir Knight) and weeding through to CHUCK the STUFF.

BTW- this summer is sure to be exciting!! I promise to update here more often, even if I have to do it with short posts via my phone!  Stay tuned!!

Look UP!

Look up in the sky and what do I see??

A golden bright sunshine glowing down on me!!

YAY!!  That completes the poetry moment- enjoy the little couplet that fell out of my brain. :-D 

And truthfully someone probably has said that or sung it and that's why it spewed out of my fingers so easily, heh.    Was a beautiful day despite the clouds intermittently hiding that shiny sun today, with the kids doing well and having a great time at their dance competition.  Not too much of a drive either, and sharing the ride makes the trip so much more fun!!  --apologies to the white Toyota, witness to whacko funny lady with a hair clip up her nose and the trucker who saw the front end of my truck bouncing to 'Topsy Turvy!' being sung with GUSTO, yeah, that's what we'll call it--   AnyWHO- fun trip, great day, and happy, tired kids!  WHEEEEE!!!  Granted there would've been much more joy if the awards ceremony hadn't taken nearly 12 hours, but that's just the opinion of a mom who sat in the saaaaaame chair alllllllllll day long.    
May looks up to be purty busy: wrapping up school lessons and hours, last weeks of dance classes, dance competitions and getting this house in order by way of an INTENSE spring cleaning.  It may be another month before I blog! ha! 

Stitches and spring fever.

What do they have in common?
Two recent highlights at our house.

Stitches- Pup was spayed Thursday at the bargain cost of $250. Ouch! Post surgery she's not "supposed" to play and romp or run up the stairs or jump on the bed. Yeah, RIGHT! She stayed downstairs for the first few hours home, but that evening she was upstairs napping on my bed when I got out of the shower. Hmph. Thankfully she still sleeps in her cage at night. One activity I can keep her from is romping with the neighbor dogs, especially her best buddy next door. Normally they play at least once a day, three or four times on weekends. Keeping them apart -absolute torture. Lucy is driving me batty barking, whining and near busting my doors down trying to get outside. The neighbor dog barks incessantly for her every time she is outside -poor thing, she just wants to play. Neither one understands a good romp in the yard has the potential for pain and bleeding or ripped out stitches. I've taken Lucy out for just some fetch a few times a day to keep her from going stir crazy. Getting her back into the house without detouring to the neighbor's is not easy. Will be a race to see if I can get her safely to the end of the week with doors and stitches intact!

Spring fever- Nice weather last week was awesome! Mixed some potting soil around my flower beds to prepare for planting next month. Also built up the soil around my sprouting tulips and irises then covered with a layer of mulch since the 60s temps were going to drop below freezing again, which it did, with two mornings of snow to boot. YUK! Back up to 50s today but who knows how long THAT will last. Sunny and beautiful outside, I just wish the temps would reflect that! Trees don't even have buds on them yet, and I'm getting my flower beds prepared?? Cruel sunshine the first days of spring always get me psyched up for what's ahead...then it snows again. AARRGGHH!!! Took some frustration out on two old shrubs that needed dug up. Huge roots to chop away at- dig, chop, dig, chop and chop some more. Oh as a bonus, I uncovered some nesting bumblebees- YAY. They were huge but thankfully only crawling. What I didn't manage to kill were crawling back into the dirt. Planting flowers next month could get interesting! :-D

Letter to Spring

Dearest Spring,

You are here! I'm so happy you finally arrived! I've been waiting for MONTHS...literally, months. The lovely sunshine you shared with us today was amazing, though you could still increase your temperatures just a bit, but I'm not complaining! I don't want to upset you. No, don't go yet! Please hang around for a couple months until your friend Summer can join us. Then we can have a nice little party with the windows open and some cool drinks while we visit with the neighbors. YAY! The rugrats are happy to see you as well. Sure they love your cousin Winter, but they quickly tire of lugging all the layers of clothes and boots, pile them on to go explore the yard then have to peel them all back off afterwards. They were so excited to go meet you in the yard this week with only light jackets! They were wondering if you brought along your little one, April Showers, because they love to wear their yard boots and play with her, sloshing through the puddles creating mud stews in empty buckets. If not, that's ok, I'm sure your tall, dark handsome other half will bring her along any day now. He is a bit loud though, but that's not a problem! We like loud around here!
Anyway, I do hope you will find the accommodations acceptable and please stay as long as you like! You are always a welcome!
